When Your Child Proves You Wrong..... :)

So last night, Noah wants to show me a card trick he learned..... He sits on the floor and proceeds to put the cards face up in 3 different rows. He asks me to pick a card and memorize it not telling him what it is. I do so and then he asks me what row it is in. I respond and he takes all cards in a big pile and puts them in 3 rows again. I again say what row it is in. He does this two more times! At this point I am thinking, "he has no clue what he is doing but he looks cute" He keeps pausing and gets a concentration look on his face and I am covering my mouth trying not to laugh out loud because it is obvious he is lost in the trick. Finally, he takes the cards and starts putting them face up in a big pile. I watch as he passes my card up and keeps piling them on. I want to hug him so badly because I know he got the trick wrong and then he looks at me with one card in his hand and says, "Mom, the next card I turn over will be your card...." I watch as he puts the card in his hand face down and then grabs my card from the middle of the discard pile. I WAS FLOORED! Did my 6 year old just complete a very hard card trick? HE DID! LOL

His entire face lit up and he said, "I told you I could do this trick" The crazy part is that Jason and Christian didn't even teach it to him, he just watched them do it a few times and picked it up. Then he explained that he knew it was my card because the A of diamonds was in the same row twice and then in the other two rows.....can a 6 year old really follow that? I suppose I shouldn't be surprised with Noah, he can read at an unbelievable level for a 6 year old.

Maybe next time I will wait a little bit longer before I start thinking he doesn't know what he is doing....LOL
